Shock and the Election

11/17/2016

Many people are having difficulty with the results of the election.   People are stunned and having difficulty accepting what happened.  Depression and anxiety are some of the effects.

In terms of working through these reactions, remember that these reactions are the result of "shock."  The shock feeling in the body not only numbs the feelings the person is having about the election but also interferes with focusing on what the person needs to do in the future.

So release the shock and any images that create despair, confusion, and depression and let's create a better future!

A New Direction

Hello Everyone,

This new website is also announcing a new direction in my life.  Since 1995 I have used EMDR in my practice.  Because of what I learned with EMDR, I have been able to help many clients.  Many times I have experience intense gratitude for being able to help clients with EMDR.  At this time, however, I have come to a major change in my life’s work.

As many of you know, I have developed a new therapy called Image Transformation Therapy (ImTT).  From my experience and the experiences of many of therapists, it is clear that ImTT provides a much gentler and more effective approach to releasing trauma as well as changing behaviors than EMDR.  While much research needs to be done, the clinical experiences of myself and other therapists has been extremely positive.  Indeed, many of the EMDR therapists who begin to use ImTT find, over a relatively short period of time, that they no longer use EMDR.  ImTT is so much easier for both therapists and clients.

What I have been teaching in the Feeling-State Addiction Protocol workshops, of course, remains valid.  Feeling-States are an important component in behavioral and substance addictions.  With ImTT, Feeling-State treatment is accomplished with the ImTT protocols instead of the EMDR protocols.  The trauma work in the FSAP is accomplished with less effort and time by using the ImTT trauma protocol than doing the standard EMDR protocol.  The new protocol is called the Feeling-State Image Protocol (FSIP).

For those workshop participants who have taken my FSAP workshop in the last two years, the ImTT builds on the Pain/Terror Release Protocol that you learned in the workshop.  You learned about effective and gentle the P/TRP was.  Now learn to utilize the complete therapy.

Come join with me as therapists, consultants, and eventually trainers to develop and pioneer a radically new psychotherapy.
